Multi Exposure Image Fusion
نویسنده
چکیده
High dynamic range images are images that have a ratio between their maximum and minimum intensities greater than that of display or capture devices. One method to create high dynamic range images is to combine a set of differently exposed shoots into a single image that has to be compressed before visualization. Compressing high dynamic range images is thus based on a so called high dynamic range map (HDR). In this paper we show that a solution to the problem can be obtained without the need for the calculation of HDR maps. To achieve this we use an image fusion method in the gradient domain. We start by calculating a gradient field which encompasses the details found in the exposure image series. This gradient field is then integrated to result in the final within dynamic range image. The resulting algorithm achieves high image contrast due to a non-linear thresholding of gradients.

The purpose of multi-focus image fusion is gathering the essential information and the focused parts from the input multi-focus images into a single image. These multi-focus images are captured with different depths of focus of cameras. Images taken by typical digital cameras with fixed exposure often suffer from a lack of details in the underexposed and overexposed regions. Fusing multi-exposed images is particularly useful for improving this situation. This paper proposes a weighted-sum-based multi-exposure image fusion method that is fast enough to be implemented in digital cameras. The proposed method attempts to improve t...

Due to the differences between the visible and thermal infrared images, combination of these two types of images is essential for better understanding the characteristics of targets and the environment. Thermal infrared images have most importance to distinguish targets from the background based on the radiation differences, which work well in all-weather and day/night conditions also in land s...

Low-light images are not conducive to human observation and computer vision algorithms due to their low visibility. Although many image enhancement techniques have been proposed to solve this problem, existing methods inevitably introduce contrast underand over-enhancement. Inspired by human visual system, we design a multi-exposure fusion framework for low-light image enhancement. Based on the...

Digital image sequences taking from the same scene with different exposures often show underexposed or overexposed areas, which make details of the highlight or shadow zones get lost. Image fusion technology aims to solve this problem. However, most of image fusion algorithms are too complex and timeconsuming. By analyzing the multi-resolution image fusion method, a simple, low complexity algor...

Multi-exposure image fusion algorithms are used for enhancing the perceptual quality of an image captured by sensors of limited dynamic range by rendering multiple images captured at different exposure settings. One practical problem overlooked by existing algorithms is the compensation required for image deregistration due to possible multi-dimensional camera shake that results within the time...
